2018 Kia Forte: What is the oil type and capacity?

The 2018 Kia Forte uses the 5W-20 and 5W-20 full synthetic motor oil as the recommended options. Although 5W-20 is the more recommended option of the two. It is important to always follow the manufacturer's suggestions for motor oils, as Your engine needs that to run optimally. An oil change will keep Your car running smooth and last as long as it can. This is a good way to boost the longevity and lifespan of Your car. It is recommended that You do so every 3500 to 6000 miles. The change usually takes less than an hour to complete, and costs around $100 to $150, depending on location done. You can also purchase Your oils at stores like Autozone and Target, to do Your own changes at home.

Full-synthetic is recommended, but, if you must use a semi-synthetic or full-standard oil, make sure to change it no later than 3,000 miles or 6 months, to avoid contaminants, depending on your driving habits (i.e., rougher = sooner). And avoid mixing types, unless you have no choice (e.g., you're in the desert and your oil is dangerously low). Don't much with 4-cylinder engines, or you'll pay a hefty price for your tiny savings with non-full-synthetic oils. Oil changes at Jiffy Lube, et al., are about $80; less if you can find coupons online and/or legitimate discounted gift cards which can be found at BJs, Costco, et al. Most KIA dealerships with garages charge about $90 for oil change, tire rotation, and basic safety check; check the dealership/garages for online service coupons.
